From a High Angle
I'm fairly sure I've blogged before about how ridiculously obsessed with The Wiggles Cohen and Kason are, so we got them both a Wiggles sheet set for their birthdays. {Sidebar: It is crazy hard to find cot-sized Wiggles bedding!} Anyways, we couldn't find any Wiggles blankets or duvet covers that weren't ridiculously overpriced, and seeing as we 'bought' a really nice cot-sized duvet inner with our Flybuys points before we left New Zealand, I decided I'd make them one each.
Each duvet cover (obviously I made two) only took about 90 minutes from start to finish. Initially it didn't have the patch in the middle and I was planning on putting iron-on transfer images of each of The Wiggles on 'their' colour square, but then Simon brought home this patch and I thought it looked really good in the middle, and made it Wiggles enough. Plus it was way easier than the rigmarole of the iron-on transfers! Although we now have the problem that 'our' Spotlight only had one patch...and none of the other Spotlight stores even remotely nearby to us has another one!!! I've got my Mum checking the Spotlight in Hamilton (in New Zealand) this weekend for one!!! Other than that, Kason's is all done too, just waiting on finding that patch!
Where I Slept
Wow...so this picture is telling me that I *really* need to get something up on that wall above our bed!!! And next time I take a photo of said bed, I really should put more effort into making it!
Disclaimer: That is Simon's bedside table you can see...mine has a lot more than an external hard drive and a laptop on it!!

Fave Photo I've Ever Taken
It's not the best picture of them, but they are hanging just inside our front door, and I hope they are hanging in our home for many, many years to come.

Pissed. Off.
So it may be pathetic of me, but for the last 2½ years my brother and sister-in-law (they live in the Gold Coast) have been promising to come to Adelaide to visit us. They haven't visited us once, yet we have been up to visit them three, maybe four, times since we moved here from New Zealand. Their excuse is always that they can't afford it. Last night they say they are upgrading their car. Today, my sister-in-law announces that she is taking their little boy to NZ for a long weekend. So much for being broke.
It upsets me so much because it feels like we really aren't important to them at all. Take Kason and Cohen's 1st birthday, for example. My sister-in-law promised me that she and lil man would be here for the boys' birthday. The day I was expecting them to give me all their flight details, she has my brother tell me that they have booked tickets for all three of them to go to New Zealand for two weeks instead. Yeah...I'm not trusting their promises anymore. And I am so, so over it.
Just feeling super hurt right now.

A Bit Random
Again with the lack of blogging! My only excuse is that Cohen and Kason have really been challenging me this last week. It just might have something to do with all the new words that they are {finally!} starting to come out with! It's such a relief that they are starting to say more, and that they are putting more words together...just tonight Kason asked for "more cheese, please Mummy"! And they can both say almost every letter of the alphabet (repeating after us, but still, that's huge for them!)...it is SO super cute when Cohen says the letter 'L'!
Kason misses his Nana quite a bit, I think. Just randomly he will say, "I love Nana", and every night when I get him out of the bath, he excitedly calls for Nana, expecting her to be waiting in the lounge for him. It's things like that that make me sad that we live so far away from my parents and that we don't see them very often, but it also shows me that despite that, he knows who his grandparents are and he loves them. We Skype them at least once a week, and both boys have started wanting to show Nana and Grumps everything! They 'give' them cups of coffee from their pretend kitchen, and throw them balls to catch. They get so excited when I ask if they want to Skype Nana and Grumps, it's so precious.
Anyways, we've had a really good day today, and we're up to FOUR days of naps, IN A ROW!!! This is unheard of in the last couple of months, and it's so, so nice!! Here's hoping it continues J

My Beautiful Boys
Kason sat down on his step this afternoon and asked me to get my camera and take his picture. While I got it, he asked Cohen to come and sit next to him - they are so, so sweet :-)

(P.S. There is a REALLY good reason for Kason wearing overalls over his jersey!)
Colourful!
My Mum gave Kason and Cohen a slinky each when she was over last month. They both LOVE them, and tonight Kason was having lots of fun with them!

Yellow
Yellow buttons! I've been making some new cot rail covers for Kason and Cohen's cots to match their new Wiggles sheets and duvet, so needed some yellow buttons :-)

Time
We've actually only just put our clock back up. We're doing a bit of a reshuffle of things at the moment, and finally had a good spot to put it! (The clock isn't dirty, by the way, the mark is on my camera lens!)

Door
This is (obviously) the door to Kason & Cohen's room! The little clowns hanging on it are from their Nana H - Simon's Mum. The boys LOVE them!
I had great intentions to get an awesome picture of an awesome cellar door at a winery today...but it just didn't happen, even though we were there!

Best Bit of my Weekend
We had a great long weekend, and the best part was just hanging out with this boy, his brother, and their Daddy <3

Day 161
We had lots of fun playing outside today! This is Cohen riding his bike, wearing his new zebra hat he got for his birthday :-)

Reading
I love that the boys enjoy sitting up on the couch and reading books that they have chosen from their little reading corner :-)

Sign
Because Kason and Cohen are a bit delayed in their speech, we have taught them some Australian Sign Language. This is Kason making the sign for 'help'.
It has made our lives so much easier, and, I think, encouraged their speech as well :-)

Catching Up!
We had an awesome weekend celebrating the boys’ birthday! On the Friday, we went to the wildlife park about 45 minutes away from us. My Grandma gave Kason and Cohen an annual pass for their birthday, so it was really good to show Mum the place and how much the boys love it.

Tuesday morning we had an early start, for another trip to the airport! This time to drop Simon off for his flight to Sydney for his Dad's funeral. We got home in time for breakfast, then off to Playgroup.
This was my first time by myself with the boys, and I have to say that they were (generally) awesome! They were so well behaved, despite refusing to nap, and I was so impressed with them. That said, it is SO not easy to get out of the house in the mornings without a second pair of hands to help out! Especially on the Wednesday morning, when I had to get Kason and Cohen to occasional care by 8:45am! Needless to say, we were late, but only because one boy had a dirty nappy just as I was about to put him in the car!
Simon was back on Friday morning, but Kason & Cohen had a birthday party to attend which was chaotic trying to keep them both under control...the party was at some place and they had very structured activities, which, to be honest, were over the heads of the kids, all of whom had just turned two. It was just stressful for me, and I don't think the boys enjoyed it.
Simon was also working both Saturday and Sunday this weekend, at the Bridal Expo. It certainly all made for a loooong week! Especially seeings as the boys only has one nap the entire week! They did have another birthday party to go to on the Saturday, which was awesome, they had heaps of fun, as did I :-)
That catches us up to today! We ran a few errands this morning, then after dropping Simon at the bus stop, the boys and I had a playdate with some of their friends. Again they had a blast, and it was DEVINE to come home and have the boys actually sleep at nap time!!! I got to make a batch of chocolate chip muffins and have a nap myself!
Oh! And, I'm also doing the 'photo-a-day' for June:
I think though, that I might not keep strictly to it. If I take a photo that I really like that doesn't work for the 'photo-a-day', I'll use that one instead :-)
Anyways, I have things to do, better go!
