Blocks

Day 33

In the last week or so, Kason & Cohen have both been waking for an extra feed about 11pm - usually just as I'm about to go to bed. Not sure why...they are now having three meals of solid food a day, plus the same number of breastfeeds as they have always had...

Day 32

It was quite nice actually, as we were out of the house with some time to spend together. We were in a suburb we haven't been to much, so we found a little cafe and had a milkshake (for me) and a coffee (for him).
Kason & Cohen had an odd day after we got home...not quite sure what is going on with them lately, but we'll get there!

Mmm...Drool

Day 30
Originally uploaded by Road2Chaos

Cohen was drooling on my leg this morning. This, in itself, is by no means uncommon. Both he and Kason are teething, although they are yet to get any teeth. Anyways, when I moved Cohen from his spot, I saw the pattern his drool made - a perfect heart! I thought it was cute!

We've had a good day today, just pottering around home mainly, although we did drop off the baby capsules we hired and went for a walk for over an hour. It was a beautiful day and not too hot, so perfect walking weather! It's nice that we still have places nearby to explore that we haven't ever been to.

This week is going to be a busy one for us, especially tomorrow. But it will be a good week, I'm sure :-) Kason & Cohen are just so much fun, they make me laugh and smile all the time, I love being their Mum. They are going through a bit of separation anxiety at the moment, and just yesterday both cracked it when a couple of friends wanted cuddles with them. They have known both of these people their whole lives, and see one of them at least every week. We're off to NZ soon, so I hope that doesn't continue too much - LOTS of people there are wanting cuddles with them!

Cute

Fun in PJs!

I'm so lucky in that Simon will get up with them when they wake up about 7am so I can have a bit of extra sleep, which is particularly nice at the moment as the boys are both a bit unsettled and waking 3-4 times a night, as opposed to their usual once! It's all good though, I'm sure it's just a phase and they are so darn cute! It's quite nice being up with them (usually one wakes at a time) when everything in the house is dark and quiet.

Out & About

Happy!

Day 26

It was well worth it, and not long after we got there I had another twin mum with older twins come up to me and say, "it gets easier!" - after my day yesterday, I needed to hear that! It's nice taking them out, people just can't help but smile at them, and it's lovely to be able to cause strangers' smiles :-D

The boys have really started to take to solid food, they are just loving it - especially their veges! They get so excited when they get that first spoonful on their tongues, and Cohen thinks he needs to guide my hand to his mouth - unfortunately his hand-eye coordination is still improving and he ends up with it everywhere, but it's all so much fun so who cares about the mess!!!

Out! But not for long!

We went to the Multiples club playgroup after lunch, and the little flat out refused to sleep - they were getting too much attention and there was too many people to charm! We got home in time for their next feed and I thought that might put them to sleep...it did not. Come time for their next nap they were acting tired, but again, refused to sleep! I tried for about 1.5 hours to get them to sleep in their cots, to no avail. Put them in their umbrella strollers, clicked on the connectors and off down the street we went! It worked, and they fell asleep, so we headed home and I transferred them to theie beds...only for them to wake up 10mins later for their next feed! Overnight they woke every two hours!

So much to do

Day 24

So little time. Just feeling a little overwhelmed with all I have to get done tonight, so I'm procrastinating...which makes it worse!

I still have to fold and put away yesterday's washing, hang up today's washing (which I had to grab in off the line when it started pouring with rain this afternoon only 30mins after I hung it out!), stuff nappies for tomorrow, wash, dry and put away dishes, cut 54 fleece squares for my next quilt project. Which I'm aiming to get done by the end of this weekend. Not sure if it's going to happen. I might have to get Simon to take the boys out on Saturday or Sunday.

Anyways, I better get onto it all. Oh what to start with?!

Cheese!

We had such a busy, but great weekend! Saturday we dropped Simon off at his work Christmas picnic about 30mins north of our place, then drove back about 10mins south of our place to our Mums n Bubs Christmas BBQ, then back up to Simon's.

Simon's picnic was at a park in Seacliff, across the road from the beach (Day 21 picture!), and as it was SUCH a hot day (read: 38 degrees Celcius!), we took K&C for their first real swim in the ocean. They just LOVED it, which is awesome. My three brothers and I all love the beach and we are out swimming as much as possible. Simon and I are planning on spending a lot of time at the beach with K&C this summer (in the mornings!), particularly as Cohen has quite bad eczema and swimming in chlorine would aggravate it I think. We are so lucky that there are so many great beaches near where we live - many with no surf, so great for taking the little ones in :-)

Chilling

Day 19
Originally uploaded by Road2Chaos

Kason & Cohen had their 6-month vaccinations this morning, and they handled them like champs! After that, we dropped Simon into work - he was teaching at a school this afternoon instead of the studio. He reckons it went really well and the school is interested in possibly making it an on-going thing next year which is really exciting for him!
On our way home, we stopped at Spotlight and got a couple of robot patches to try to fix Master M's quilt. I should really be working on that...I've decided to hand-stitch the hole, then put the robot patch over it. I'll then put another robot patch in another random place. I think it should look ok...I've used a robot flannel, so the patches won't be too out of place!

Oh, today's pic is of Kason (L) and Cohen (R) hanging out in their new (empty) paddling pool. If we get a chance this weekend, we might put some water in it and let them have a play - I just need Simon around for that extra pair of hands!

Love

Day 18

While having twins can be really challenging some days, most days are great and it's so cool to see them interacting with each other. I can't wait to watch them grow together and see their unique bond develop. It would be such an amazing thing to have an identical twin!

Or so I thought.

Sigh. So I thought Master M's quilt was done. This morning I had the presence of mind to turn it over and inspect the back...didn't have to really check it, as a big gaping hole in one of the seams was pretty obvious. I'm gutted, because of how big it is and where it is, I don't know how I'm going to go about fixing it. Simon reckons I should just put a patch over it, but I think it will look out of place...

In other news, I managed to get a banana cake made while the boys were napping this morning. Can't wait for it to cool down so I can ice it (read: have a piece!).
