Three Months

Dear Kason & Cohen,

Today you are three months old. I can't believe how quickly that time has gone, yet it feels like you have been in our lives for much longer.

You are wearing size 000, but will be going into size 00 very soon - you're getting big, especially as when you were first born, you were both in size 00000!!!

You were both weighed and measured last week.
Kason
Weight: 5040g
Length: 57cm

Cohen
Weight: 5030g
Length: 56.5cm

Kason, you have finally overtaken Cohen!

You are both really good little boys. Kason, you don't particularly like sleeping during the day, you much prefer to be up playing, or just hanging out with me, reading stories - your favourite is 'The Wonky Donkey' - I wonder if it reminds you of your Nana because when she was staying with us, she read it to you LOTS! Cohen, you enjoy 'The Wonky Donkey' as well, but I think you prefer 'Hairy Maclary and Zachary Quack'.

You are both smiling a lot more now, and I think you will be laughing soon - I can't wait to hear you both laugh! Cohen, you rolled from your tummy to your back for the first time on July 27th, but didn't do it again until August 12th. You have done it several times since then. Kason, you rolled for the first time on August 12th, and you, too, have done it several times since then! Daddy hasn't seen either of you actually roll yet - just the 'before and after'!

Both of you are sleeping really well at night, usually only waking up once around 4am, then sleeping until around 8am, which is nice. You have done one night where you slept for 8 hours - 10pm to 6am!!!

Kason, you used to hate being put into The Hummer, or the front pack, or your carseat, but now you don't mind it so much. Cohen, you are more laid back, and nothing much fazes you.

You boys are very social, and for the last six weeks, we have been going to playgroup three times a week - Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. You love it, and are very well behaved. You enjoy watching the other babies, but while you are both very talkative at home, you don't 'say' much when we are out. I'm sure that will change soon!

Cohen & Kason
We love you both so, so much!

Dear 4am,

You and I have met on more than several occasions. However, we have not particularly gotten to know each other, mostly due to my level of sobriety, until the last two months. I now feel like we are becoming friends. There are many things that I am enjoying about being acquainted with you, a few of which I have listed below:
  1. Seeing my beautiful boys show off their smile in your half-light;
  2. Smelling their sweet baby breath;
  3. Touching the soft fuzz on the tops of their tiny heads;
  4. The feeling of my boys cuddled up close, holding on to my PJs, while they feed;
  5. Spending quiet time with them, nothing else going on in the house, just the three of us together.
In saying that though, I hope you won’t be offended when I stop visiting you. I can’t say when that may be, and for the time being, I am so happy and thankful to be able to enjoy my two precious boys with you.

Love and Hugs,
Laura

That's How We Roll, Baby!

Kason & Cohen BOTH rolled over today!!!

Cohen actually did it for the first time a couple of weeks ago, but it was purely by accident and he hadn't done it since...until this morning and he did it twice!!! Then, this afternoon, Kason decided he had to catch up, and rolled three times! The third time, he gave himself such a fright, he cried!

We've booked our flights to Gold Coast for November - EXCITED! And we're hoping to get the boys' passport photos tomorrow or Saturday...we'll see how that goes.

Hoping to perhaps get to a dance class on Saturday, SO missing it - I haven't had a dance since about a month before the boys were born, which is far too long in my books, not used to not dancing!

Planning:

1. Long weekend in Gold Coast at the end of November.

2. Three weeks in New Zealand over Christmas/New Years.

3. Passports and NZ Citizenship for Kason & Cohen.

Looking forward to:

1. Seeing two of my brothers and my sister-in-law in November and meeting my soon-to-be born nephew!

2. Introducing Kason & Cohen to their Uncles, Aunty and cousin.

3. Seeing our friends and family in New Zealand and showing off Kason & Cohen.

These are my favourite recent photos of the boys. They look so different to each other in them, but they really are very alike!
