I've been a bit hit and miss online lately. We are having major issues with our internet. It's driving me nuts!
We've had a great day today, even though we had an early start, with Kason deciding that 4am would be a good time to start the day. We brought him into our bed with us, and managed to get him to chill out a bit until about 5:30am. He wouldn't go back to sleep, and at 5:30am, he decided that he wanted to play!
We had playgroup this morning, which was good, then after we got home, the boys both took a 2-hour nap (for the second day running!), which was even better!!!

Internet, Sleep and Naps
Crafty Stuff
It was one of the boys' friend's birthday a couple of days ago, and we are going to see her at playgroup in the morning. I managed to find one present for her, but the second present proved a bit harder. Mikayla's mum really likes the names I've done in the boys room, so I made one (a bit different) for M. Hope she likes it!
The other one is for another friend. I found this fabric when I was at Spotlight the other day, and immediately thought of him - his bedroom is decorated in a jungle theme. Hopefully we see him and his mum soon so we can give it to them :-)

Swimming
Kason & Cohen are thirteen months old today!!! In this picture, they are all ready to go to their swimming lesson :-) They just absolutely love their lessons, and it's quite nice to have something every week that we do as a family.

Boring
Simon was working today, so Kason, Cohen and I just had a quiet day hanging out at home. We did got for a little wagon ride around the block, but that's about it!

Needles, Walking & Sunshine
Cohen and Kason got their 12-month vaccinations today. It's only just been this week when they have both been healthy enough since their birthday to actually schedule them.
They had to get three needles each, and they both did so incredibly awesomely! They both only cried for about 20 seconds each, then they were back to their usual happy selves :-) Cohen did struggle with getting to sleep tonight, which is unusual, but a dose of panadol seems to have done the trick.
Speaking of Cohen...he has been walking everywhere tonight! He is still fairly unsteady, and only takes about 10-15 steps before he falls over, but I reckon that counts!
Kason has been doing LOTS of pushing up and standing on his own today, too - I don't think he will be far behind Cohen. With crawling, and now standing, he seems to watch Cohen struggle with figuring out how to do it all, then Kase will just do it all of a sudden. It will be very interesting to see if he does the same with walking.
We actually had a whole day of sunshine today, so the boys spent a fair bit of time playing outside and sampling grass, leaves and sticks - they had an absolute blast, and they certainly didn't want to come back inside for dinner! This is Kason playing with the grass :-)

Central Markets
This morning we took Daddy into the city. We bought a double umbrella stroller off of ebay, and we were meeting the lady in the city, right opposite Simon's work. So we figured we may as well all go in, and have lunch together before Si started work. It was really nice, we really should do it more often. We went to the Central Markets, and the boys, Kason especially, loved looking at all of the different things. It's a pretty amazing place for an adult, I wonder what the boys are thinking - all the fresh fruit and veges, the lolly shops, the bakers and butchers, the cheese shops...just so many colours and smells for them :-)
Kason, Cohen and I got home just in time for them to have lunch before our CYH nurse came - the boys are only 10g different in weight at the moment! That's the closest they have ever been.
Today's picture is of Mr. Mischief, aka Kason. He has taken to climbing into everything.

Kindy and Wagon Rides
Kason and Cohen went to Kindy (Occasional Care) this morning - again they had a blast! Apparently they really enjoyed playing with the sorbolene cream on the table the most!
We had a great afternoon, just hanging out and playing at home, and after Kase woke up from his afternoon nap, I rugged them up in their jackets and took them for a ride in their wagon up and down the cul de sac, stopping and chatting to a few of the neighbours on the way :-)
Oh, and today's picture is of Cohen - he's modelling his new jamys! Cutie boy <3

Peek-A-Boo!
We finally got out of the house today! Only for 90 or so minutes, and only to the shops, but it was good nonetheless. In the short time we were there, we were stopped by random strangers no less than six times!
The rest of the day we just chilled at home together, making the most of feeling pretty much normal again :-)

Early Start, But a Good Day
Our day today started at 4:30am, when Cohen woke up screaming. Nothing, bar being outside, would calm him down, and it was far too cold to be outside for very long! And did I mention it was 4:30am?! Well, closer to 5:30am by the time Simon had the bright idea to take him outside. Anyways, after Kason woke up (at 6:45am!!! Woohoo!!!!!!) he calmed right down and was happy, albeit a bit clingy - he just wanted cuddles - for most of the day.
Anyways, Kason discovered that if he climbs IN the bottom drawer, he can reach the very top drawer...the one that ISN'T baby-proofed shut! He is really getting good at standing on his own, and has already figured out how to push himself up to standing without using something to pull on - clever boy!

:-(
You'll have to excuse the crappyness of this photo...I took it on my phone, at precisely 9:32pm apparently! Apart from 3 hours in the middle of the day when Simon went into work only to be told he could come home, I spent pretty much the entire day in bed. I felt like absolute crap, threw up too many times to recall. Thank goodness he did come home, because after lunch, Cohen started throwing up too. He wasn't able to keep anything down, the poor little guy :-( We called a locum out after hours to come and check him out, I was worried he would become dehydrated. Turns out he (and I) has gastro. We just have to keep a super close eye on him and just give him sips of water and dry food and see how he goes.

Queen's Birthday
It's Queen's Birthday Monday, which means we have Simon home :-) A friend of mine from high school is in Adelaide at the moment, but only until the end of this week. Luckily it worked out that we were able to catch up with her and another school friend (and her hubby) today - they came over for lunch. It was awesome to catch up with them all, and Cohen and Kason just loved all the attention, and they were SO well behaved :-) Except for Kason refusing to take an afternoon nap...guess he didn't want to miss out on any of the fun!

Yet Another Party!
Cohen all dressed up in his new shirt from his great-aunty for his little buddy's 1st birthday party :-) We had such a great day today, the party was really good, A's Mum did such an awesome job! Kason and Cohen had a great time playing with all their friends and getting underfoot of the adults. They especially loved the little ball pit...and the cupcakes with their names on them!
We started swimming lessons again this week after a 3-week break (due to their party, and then sickness). They were both THRILLED to be back in the water, and just laughed, giggled, squealed, grinned and splashed the entire time - can't wait for Sunday again!

"Nobody puts Baby in a corner"
...because he puts himself there! Both of the boys have figured out how to go backwards on their little bikes - this is Kason (on Cohen's bike). He started off right up by where I was, and in no time at all, he had backed himself into the corner!

Hundreds & Thousands
After making fairy bread for Kason and Cohen's birthday party, we had some hundreds and thousands left over in a small container in the pantry. While I was getting something out, Cohen found said container and stopped pulling everything else off the shelves. He sat down and just started shaking and shaking it - he LOVED it!!! Kason came over to see what the fuss was all about and the fight began...lucky for them, I had another packet of hundreds and thousands - so now they have one shaker each :-)
And, believe it or not, they keep on sitting down together and playing with them!

Day 208
Kason pulled our baby bag out from it's usual spot, and proceeded to use it as a pillow to watch Playschool. He, and Cohen, were completely enthralled by it today!

Tears + More Tears = Sucky Day
Today has not been fun. It started off pretty good - Cohen and Kason both slept until 6:30am! Beats 5am hands down!!! Unfortunately, that was the second-best thing that happened all day! The best? Kason had a 1.5 hour nap this morning. Cohen...not so much, he needed a cuddles and a dose of Panadol to get to sleep 30 minutes after Kase fell asleep. The rest of the day was pretty much just tears. Cohen just wanted cuddles with Mama. That was all fine...until Kason saw, and he wanted cuddles with Mama AND Cohen. Cohen didn't like that - he wanted me all to himself (this led to tears from Cohen) and kept trying to push Kase away. That led to tears from Kason.
Then, they both flat out refused to nap this afternoon. This led to even more tears from both boys. So, I strapped them into their carseats and we went for a drive - they were both sound asleep, literally within minutes. Snapped this shot down by Port Willunga.

Untitled
My Mum left this morning :-( It sucked to see her go...hopefully we will get over to New Zealand for Christmas, but it's not looking all too promising at the moment. Thank God for Skype hey!
After dropping Mum at the airport, then Simon at work, we pretty much only had the afternoon. I had some DVDs to return, so instead of putting the boys in their cots for their afternoon nap, I rugged them up in their hats, jackets and blankets, put the storm cover on the stroller and we walked there and took the long way home (up the long, slow hill!).
On another note, Cohen has just in the last day or so started standing up by himself - he doesn't need to pull himself up now, he just pushes up off the floor. I haven't actually seen him do it yet, but one moment I'll be looking at him sitting on the floor with nothing tall near him, and I'll glance away and by the time I look back at him, he's standing! He's still not taking more than one step tho...!

Whale of a Time!
Kason and Cohen were given this push-along whale toy for their birthday. The balls inside the clear dome bit on the top spin around as you push it forward, or if you press down on it. They both LOVE it!!! It is one of the only toys that they will play with together...nicely! They both will sit there for about 5 minutes together, just pressing on it and making the balls spin!

Unwell
So, both Kason and Cohen are sick. We took them to the doctors this morning, and Cohen is now on antibiotics. Luckily, they have both been happy enough though - they just have awful coughs and runny noses :-(
Needless to say, we've just had a quiet day at home today.

Party time...again!
Today the boys had yet another 1st birthday party to attend! It was a good day, and it was good to catch up with some of the people who were at Kason and Cohen's party last weekend I didn't get much of a chance to chat to. Cohen was a bit clingy...he woke at 5am this morning, and even though he had a 45 minute nap before the party, it wasn't quite enough!
Today's picture is of Cutie Kason just after we got home.

Stoked!
Happy Boy Cohen! (Day 202) |
Speaking of Neonates, Cohen and Kason had a blast there today. They got spoilt with yet ANOTHER birthday cake - banana this time. Kason absolutely devoured it, he was literally sucking on my hand to try to get the last crumbs off of it! Cohen wasn't quite as into it, but had about a third of a small piece.
They were both in really good moods, and even sat down at the table and shared a bead maze toy with another of their friends - they each had a wire and some beads to play with, and it was awesome seeing the three of them playing together nicely.

Squirmy Worm
Compared to yesterday, we had a fairly quiet one today. The boys have a birthday party this weekend, and another next weekend, so this morning we were out shopping for pressies. We then met up with two friends of Mum's. She used to work with them, until they moved to Adelaide several months ago. It was good to meet them finally, they are so lovely! It was an...interesting lunch. The cafe we were at didn't have highchairs, so I fed the boys their lunch in their stroller. Kason is going through a phase (I'm hoping it's only a phase!) where he does. not. want. to. sit. still. He is really not liking the stroller at the moment. He will sit there fine for maybe two minutes, then the tantrums start! It wasn't too bad while I was actually spooning food into his mouth, but as soon as he was finished...well that was a different story! I thought he would be ok on my lap, but again, not so much!

P.S. Can you tell I'm ridiculously tired?! This post doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but I don't have the energy to re-write it.
Busy Day
Today, the weather was lovely, so we made the most of it! After we picked Cohen and Kason up from Occasional Care, we (me, Mum, Kason & Cohen) went up Mt Lofty and then we took the boys to Cleland Wildlife Park. They enjoyed it, but their favourite parts, by far, were patting the koala (both of their faces just lit up with huge grins), and watching the fish in the tanks.
We were home a bit later than we had planned, so their dinner was a bit late, but they were SO happy right up until they went to bed. Kason went to sleep without a peep, but Cohen was a different story - he refused to sleep without being cuddled.
Then...I met Simon and a few friends out! We went salsa dancing, and, for the second week in a row, Simon and I outlasted the DJ, and came home with blisters on our feet. It was a great night, and I am so thankful that Mum is here and is happy to stay with the boys. We didn't get home until after 2am, and we even got every single light green on our way home!
