Something Beautiful
My Personality
This one was hard!!
In the end, I (obviously!) went with jandals (or 'thongs' as the Aussies call them!) and a bottle of moscato. I think I'm pretty chilled out and relaxed (hence the jandals), but I'm always up for a good time (the moscato).

A Number
26...a number that holds a whole lot to me. A lot of memories, good and not so good. All important.

The Weather Today
The weather has been fairly crap here lately - cold, overcast, showery and rainy! Today is no different...

Something Sweet
Eskimos!!! I LOVE these lollies! My Mum sends them over from New Zealand all the time! Oh, and I use them to make lolly cake sometimes...so good!

12:00
I completely forgot about this one until we were in bed at about 11pm!! I ended up just writing it on Simon's iPad and taking a picture of it with my phone!

Something New
The quilt I've just finished making for baby G! I think it turned out super cute, I can't wait to give it to her Mummy!

Technology
Yeah, I'm so not 'up' with technology! Simon has an iPad which I play with very occasionally. My phone is pretty the most technological I get!

Pink
In a house full of boys, there isn't a whole lot of pink! This is part of a quilt I'm making for my friend's newborn daughter <3

Not all rainbows and butterflies
Simon's Dad died on Tuesday afternoon. He surprised all the doctors and recovered from his chest infection earlier in the month, and was discharged from hospital within the week. I got a message on Tuesday morning that he had deteriorated that morning and it wasn't looking good...the fact that he was still in the nursing home rather than the hospital said a lot. It took me two hours to get a hold of Simon – he is notoriously bad at checking his cellphone and he'd gone into the city early, so he wasn't at work yet either. After finally getting a hold of him, he tried to call his step-mum to no avail, so he called the nursing home and got put through to Tony's room. Ros had to tell him that his Dad had died only ten minutes earlier.
He's devastated. We all are. Simon is heading up to Sydney early next week for a few days for his Dad's funeral. Tony will be cremated and Ros will be taking his ashes back to Christchurch. At this stage, it's looking as though Ros is happy to wait to take Tony's ashes to Christchurch later this year when we are going back. So that will be nice.
On another note...Kason threw his biggest ever tantrum this morning. At the library. Yup, the place where people expect peace and quiet. My son was screaming. He desperately wanted to go on the computer to skype Nana (yes, Nana is still here! She was approximately three metres away from Kason at the time). I ended up having to take him outside!! He was cracking it pretty much the entire 45 minutes we were there...until he found a Wiggles book! And then there was no way in hell he was going to put that book down, so Kason has now officially chosen his first book to check out of the library J
After Toddler Time, we went over to the supermarket, and I tackled the groceries while Mum took the boys in a trolley to Big W to find another Wiggles book (well, two). Apparently while they were in the shop, Kason and Cohen both decided that would be a fantastic time to pull their pants down!! FUNNY BOYS!
Anyways, that's about all for now. I have to go and work on the boys' birthday cake before Grey's Anatomy starts.

A Favourite Place
This absolutely has to be one of my favourite places - our back yard, with my favourite boys in the whole world <3

Snack
Bad, I know! But, oh so good!!! Homemade chocolate biscuits, made with melted dark chocolate - DELICIOUS!!
And being completely honest, this was most likely my lunch...!

What I'm Reading
I'm reading the book 'Polo' by Jilly Cooper. I'm really enjoying it (almost finished!). It's a little different to the kinds of books I usually read, but I was getting a bit sick of what I had been checking out of the library. I'm definitely going to keep my eye out for more by Jilly Cooper!

Grass
Well, this, my friends, is grass. The our back lawn, to be more precise. Just a patch of it, obviously.

Mum
I'm so glad that I got to celebrate Mothers Day with my Mum! She arrived the day before. This is Kason, me, my Mum & Cohen on the miniature trains :-)

Holy Crap
One of my friends is getting married on Saturday. As in, not tomorrow, but the next day (I am super, super excited!!). She's just texted asking if I will finish making her bouquet for her...holy crap on a cracker!!! She has done an amazing job of it so far, and it's just finishing it off. I'm so honoured that she's asked me to do it (of course I've said I will!), but, pressure, anyone?!?!!! I'm so glad that I have my Mum here...she can help me out while the boys are napping...and Simon goes out to get their wedding present!

A favourite word
Ok, so I kinda cheated on this one...these are my favourite words. I love, love, love to read, and I so hope that Kason and Cohen grow up with that same love. The places one can go in a good book are just incredible. I have this canvas up in the corner of our lounge, with their couch and a few of their books.

Something you do everyday
Something I do everyday is play and hang out with my two little guys! Jumping off of the coffee table is probably an almost daily occurence for them both...I catch!

A smell you adore
Ha! Well, this one could have been a whole lot of things! I totally forgot what today's photo was supposed to be, otherwise I would have taken a picture of the freshly baked bread we woke up to this morning, or I would have done a batch of baking, and taken a picture of that!
But, I still adore the smell of this. I can't remember off the top of my head the name of the fragrance, but it's a 'Party Light' melt.

Someone that inspires you
Totally cliche here, but this boy and his brother inspire me every single day. I want to be the best 'me' as I can be, for them <3

Bird
The weather was shit here today, so all the birds that usually visit us didn't! Instead, you get to see some ceramic birds which were given to us! They are Pukekos, which are native to New Zealand. They live in the wetlands, and I think they are beautiful birds <3 You can often see them on the side of the road, or near swamps or lakes.

Busy Day
Today has been pretty full on! It's always a rush on Wednesday mornings to get out of the house to get the boys to Occasional Care on time...I don't think 'on time' has happened yet! Anyways, after we dropped them off there, Simon and I did the grocery shopping, and then after it was all put away, I made a batch of ham & cheese muffins for Kason and Cohen's lunch. Well, I made the batter and spooned it all into the muffin tins all ready to bake after I got home from picking the boys up. So yeah, we picked the boys up, dropped Simon at the bus stop, came home, baked the muffins, ate lunch (muffins were a success!!!), changed nappies and then the boys went down for their naps (this is a whole 'nother blog post!). I had to wake them up at 3:20pm, get them changed and in the stroller so we could zip across the road to get Kason to his doctor appointment.
He has had a teeny tiny red spot on his lip for months and months and months. I kept meaning to get it checked out, but because one can barely see it, unless one knows to look for it, I kept forgetting. Anyways, yesterday morning when we got him up, it quite a bit bigger and more noticeable. I called the doctors clinic and took the first appointment I could get. I didn't think it was anything sinister, but wanted to get him checked out, just to be on the safe side. Thankfully, the doctor agreed with me, and it looks like Kason had just scratched it in his sleep. But we'll keep an eye on it. We got home just in time to make dinner and have a play while it was in the oven.
After I got the boys in bed, I made meat patties for my burger, then lemon square for the Neonates morning tea on Friday, and some muffins to take to twins group tomorrow!
Needless to say, I now have a massive pile of dishes to do...yay, my favourite 'job'. Or not, as the case may be!

I'm looking forward to it!
Toy Tub Seat
Cohen decided that sitting in his and Kason's toy tub was the best spot to be tonight! Not sure if he's passing Kason a toy, or if Kason is passing a toy to Cohen!

Tired Boy
Cohen occasionally sucks his fingers when he is super tired - this was after his big day on Sunday. Definitely ready for bed!

Fighter
Simon's Dad has been battling lung cancer and secondary brain cancer for a long time. This afternoon we heard from his partner that he is back in hospital with a chest infection. He's not doing well, and the doctors aren't hopeful. He's definitely a fighter, but he's been fighting for a long time. We're hoping that he will surprise us all, and keep fighting.
I am so, so glad that we managed to get up to Sydney at the end of last year so he could meet Kason and Cohen and so they could meet their Grandpa. They all absolutely adore each other. I desperately hope that they get to see each other again.
Just this morning we posted drawings the boys made for Grandpa over the weekend. I hope they get there in time...
