Or so I thought.

Sigh. So I thought Master M's quilt was done. This morning I had the presence of mind to turn it over and inspect the back...didn't have to really check it, as a big gaping hole in one of the seams was pretty obvious. I'm gutted, because of how big it is and where it is, I don't know how I'm going to go about fixing it. Simon reckons I should just put a patch over it, but I think it will look out of place...

In other news, I managed to get a banana cake made while the boys were napping this morning. Can't wait for it to cool down so I can ice it (read: have a piece!).

Quiet

It's been a while since I last posted...mostly because I haven't been doing anything particularly interesting or blog-worthy!

I'm now 34 weeks pregnant, feeling very hippo-like! Had a scan this morning, they are weighing about 2.1kg (4.6lb) and 2kg (4.4lb) respectively. I think those are pretty good weights, but we'll see what the OB says when we go and see him on Monday. Also hoping to get an "at the latest" date for delivery from him. We had to see a different OB a few weeks ago because of a public holiday...she said 38 weeks at the latest, and we've heard that from several sources. Just want to hear it from our OB! Will also hopefully get more of a 'plan' sorted.

In the last couple of weeks, I've managed to sew a quilt for each of the boys...I only finished the second one last night, so have no photos of that one yet!

(Yes, that, in the background, is a painting waiting to be hung! These pictures make it look deceptively small...it's really quite big and is too big for the wall we wanted it on, so we still have to figure out where to hang it!)

Here already!

When we took the photo in to the shop to be put on canvas, we were told that it would take approximately 14 working days. We took it in on Sunday 28th June, then on Monday 6th July, yes FIVE working days later, we got a phone call to say it was ready!!! We came back to Auckland from Hamilton that afternoon and collected it from the mall on the way home. We LOVE it!!!!!!!!!!! We haven't put it up on the wall yet...we aren't sure if we will put it up, or just wait until we are in Adelaide. But it looks fantastic :-)

In the weekend, I gave my niece her 1st birthday present - a quilt which I made for her earlier this year. It was early - her birthday isn't for another month, but I figured there wasn't much point waiting until then to give it her - they live in the Caribbean so it's not exactly cold there! I figure she can play on it, and with it when they are home, and she can keep cuddly warm with it while she is in New Zealand! Anyways...here it is:
